Ingredients:
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 small head green cabbage, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy
Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet
Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet with the bacon fat
Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage begins to wilt, about 5-7 minutes
Add the butter to the skillet and continue to cook the cabbage until it is tender, about 10-15 minutes more
Season the cabbage with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, and stir to combine
Return the cooked bacon to the skillet and toss to combine with the cabbage
Remove from heat and serve the bacon and butter braised cabbage hot as a delicious low-carb, high-fat side dish
